As part of Singapore Polytechnic’s (SP) General Education Program, its students underwent an Overseas Social Innovation Project with their BatStateU counterparts through SP’s Learning Express (LeX) Program on March 13-22, 2018. The 10-day program allowed the students to engage in livelihood and volunteer programs that enabled them to address the needs in the local communities while developing their academic skills using the Design Thinking Methodology.
The participants were able to visit the communities in Brgy. San Gregorio, Malvar, Batangas, Brgy. Catandaan, Nasugbu, Batangas, and Brgy. San Isidro, Rosario, Batangas where they conducted interviews, created a persona and craft persona’s needs statement and project statement, validated insights and needs, developed concepts, and co-created solutions to address the needs of communities using existing prototypes.
