Admission Policies for Undergraduates

I. DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have completed high school in any recognized school or must be enrolled in Senior High School, if not yet completed.
Applicants must submit the following:

  • E – copy of Filled –out Application Form
  • E- copy of one (1) recent Passport size picture with white or plain background
  • Certified e-copy of final grades in Grades 10, and 11 in Math, English and Science
    • Grades Form 1 (for Regular Admission) / Grades Form 2 (for ALS)
    • Junior High School and Senior High School Form 137
    • Certification of completion of SHS and respective strand or enrolment therein, if not completed

The original hard copy of requirements shall be submitted upon request of the Testing and Admission Office (TAO), the University Registrar, and/or the College concerned.

II. ADDITIONAL PROGRAM-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION

A. Engineering Programs, BS Chemistry, BS Computer Science, BS Biology, and BS Mathematics
1. Completion of STEM / Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
2. Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.

B. BS Architecture and BS Interior Design
1. Completion of STEM / Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime / Arts and Design track program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
2. Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.

C. Education Programs
1. Completion of any track or strand in Senior High School or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed (open for all strands – BSEd Math and BSEd Science)
2. Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.
3. Additional requirements for College of Teacher Education
3.1. Any track for BSEd Math and BSEd Science but no grade below 85%
3.2. Passed, based on the rating from the interview by the College

D. BS Criminology
1. Completion of any track or strand in any education program in Senior High School or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
2. Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.
3. Passed, based on the rating from the screening/interview by the College.

E. BS Accountancy
1. Completion of ABM strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
2. Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.

F. BS Customs Administration
1. Completion of ABM/GAS strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
2. Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.

G. BS Psychology
1. Completion of STEM / Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime / HUMSS / GAS strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
2. Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.

H. BS Nursing, BS Nutrition and Dietetics and BS Public Health
1. Completion of STEM / Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime / GAS strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
2. Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.
3. Passed, based on the rating from the screening/interview by the College (for BS Nursing only)

I. BS Tourism Management
1. Completion of ABM strand / TVL track Major in Home Economics program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
2. Passed, based on the rating from the screening/interview to be conducted by the College.

J. BS Agriculture, BS Forestry, BS Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences
1. Completion of any track or strand in Senior High School or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.

K. Bachelor of Fine Arts and Design Major in Visual Communication
1. Completion of STEM / Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime strand / Arts and Design track in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.

L. BS Information Technology
1. Completion of STEM / Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime strand / TVL track Major in Information and Communication Technology strand, ABM strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.

M. Engineering Technology Programs
1. Completion of STEM / Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime / GAS strand / TVL track in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.

N. BS Business Administration, Entrepreneurship and Management Accounting
1. Completion of ABM strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.

O. Bachelor of Public Administration
1. Completion of ABM/ HUMSS strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.

P. BS Hospitality Management
1. Completion of ABM strand / TVL track Major in Home Economics program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.

Q. BA Communication and BA English Language Studies
1. Completion of GAS / HUMSS strand in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.

R. BS Development Communication
1. Completion of GAS / HUMSS / ABM strand in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.

III. ADMISSION APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1. Fill out the BatStateU College Application form at the https://dione.batstate-u.edu.ph/tao/#/application.
2. Upload the scanned copy of Certification of Grades of applicant for the following subjects for each grade level:

i. Grade 10 – Mathematics, Science, English
ii. Grade 11, 1st semester (non-STEM) – General Mathematics, Earth Science and Oral Communication
iii. Grade 11, 2nd semester (non-STEM) – Statistics and Probability, Physical Science and Reading & Writing
iv. Grade 11, 1st semester (STEM) – Pre-Calculus, Earth Science, Oral Communication
v. Grade 11, 2nd semester (STEM) – Basic Calculus, General Chemistry I, Reading & Writing
vi. In case of unavailability of the aforementioned priority subjects, the following alternative subjects may be considered:

The Certification must be signed and certified correct by the Principal/ School Registrar, or equivalent school officer.

3. Wait for the confirmation from Testing and Admission Office (TAO); visit frequently the application tracker: https://dione.batstate-u.edu.ph/batstateucat/portal/#/
4. Once the application is approved, Examination Permit will be issued.
5. Take the BatStateUCAT.
6. Wait for the release of the BatStateU College Admission test result; scheduled date of release shall be given by TAO.
7. For qualifiers, a Notice of Admission will be posted in the BatStateUCAT link: https://dione.batstate-u.edu.ph/batstateucat/portal/#/.
8. Wait for the enrollment schedule.

IV. EVALUATION OF APPLICATIONS AND CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION PRIORITY

Applicants shall be evaluated and ranked in accordance with the BatStateUCAT score (60%) and (40%) of the average in Math, Science and English for two years preceding graduation. Applicants are admitted to programs applied for based on rank subject to quota set or slots allotted per program by the University.
Applicants shall be given three (3) program choices they are interested in. If an applicant is not successful for their first choice, the process continues in the order of priority of the remaining choices. Applicants who have not been selected for any of their chosen programs will be considered to programs with available slots.
Applicants shall seek admission to the Campus nearest their place of residence where the program applied for is offered. The University shall allow admitted students for accommodation in any other campus when programs are not available therein, as practicable.
Applicants from different strand/ track may be admitted to program applied for, after the admission of the qualified applicants with aligned track / strand, based on rank subject to available slots allotted per program by the University.

V. AUTOMATIC ADMISSION FOR BATSTATEU INTEGRATED/LABORATORY SCHOOL (IS/LS) SHS GRADUATES AND ISKOLAR NG BAYAN (INB)

Applicants from BatStateU, The NEU Integrated School (IS) and Laboratory School (LS) shall be exempted in taking the BatStateUCAT and shall be automatically admitted to the STEM program of choice based on rank on their Final Grades in Math, Science and English. Applicants who do not meet the grade requirements will be reconsidered for non-board STEM programs.
The automatic admission of Filipino public high school graduates who are in the Top Ten of their graduating class shall be implemented in the University in accordance with RA No. 10648, provided that all other University admission requirements are met.

VI. AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PROGRAM (AAP)

Indigent applicants, ALS graduates, students with special needs (SSN), persons with disabilities (PWD), Iskolar ng Bayan, children of solo parents, and those belonging to the ICC/IPs shall be admitted to programs of the University. The University shall allot twenty percent (20%) of the total slots or enrolments in programs to accommodate admissions of these applicants. The total number of slots for AAP may be increased based on the average recorded number of qualified AAP applicants and average total population of students in the University in the last four (4) academic years, and capacity of programs at the start of the current academic year. Potential for success in the program of each applicant shall be evaluated.

Applicants under AAP must submit the following requirements:

a. Indigent students – Certification of indigency from their respective barangay of parent or guardian, if available and Certificate of Tax Exemption from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)
b. ALS graduates – Certification of completion of ALS program, or enrolment therein, if not completed
c. Indigenous people – Certificate of Tribe Membership, or any equivalent certification as belonging to indigenous people/indigenous cultural community
d. Persons with Disability – PWD Identification card
e. Iskolar ng Bayan – Certification from the public high school, duly signed by the school principal, of the rank of the applicant in the Top Ten of the graduating (Grade 12) class.
f. Children of Solo Parents – Solo parent ID

VII. INTEGRITY OF APPLICATION

The applicant guarantees the completeness and accuracy of information disclosed or contained in documents submitted. Any form of misrepresentation, falsification, and any form of dishonesty committed in relation to application for admission shall be sufficient ground for disqualification from admission to University for a specified period or permanently depending on the severity of the violation and as may be determined by the Appeals Committee.

Returnees must coordinate to their respective department and registrar.

General Academic Policies

As per the Policies on Shifters and Transferees of the University, students may be allowed to transfer to a BatStateU Campus provided that the following conditions are met:

(a) The previous program is the same or is an allied field, as may be determined by the accepting college;

(b) The specific GWA required by the accepting college/program is met;

(c) Slots are available as may be determined by the accepting college.

Students from other universities who wish to transfer to BatStateU must have passed at least thirty-six (36) academic units and have a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 2.00 before being considered for transferring.

Documentary Requirements:

  1. Admission Slip/Notice of Passing (will be issued by the Testing and Admission Office if qualified to transfer as per the evaluation of the admitting college)
  2. Filled out application form for transferees (Application Form for Shifters/Transferees can be secured at the Campus Registrar)
  3. Original Transcript of Records
  4. PSA Birth Certificate
  5. Certificate of Good Moral Character
  6. Transfer of credential (only upon admission)

Procedures:

  1. Accomplish the Application Form for transferees (BatStateU-FO-REG-SH-TR). This can be secured from the Campus Registrar’s Office.
  2. Submit the duly accomplished form together with the other requirements, except transfer credentials to the admitting college for evaluation and interview.
  3. If qualified as per college evaluation, proceed to the Testing and Admission Office for the BatStateU College Admission Test.
  4. Wait for the examination results.
  5. If qualified based on test result, secure a Notice of Admission at the Testing and Admission Office then proceed to the office of the ICT for the issuance of Student Record (SR) Code.
  6. Follow procedures for enrollment.
