SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC’S LEARNING EXPRESS program

As part of Singapore Polytechnic’s (SP) General Education Program, its students underwent an Overseas Social Innovation Project with their BatStateU counterparts through SP’s Learning Express (LeX) Program on March 13-22, 2018. The 10-day program allowed the students to engage in livelihood and volunteer programs that enabled them to address the needs in the local communities while developing their academic skills using the Design Thinking Methodology. The participants were able to visit the communities in Brgy. San Gregorio, Malvar, Batangas, Brgy. Catandaan, Nasugbu, Batangas, and Brgy. San Isidro, Rosario, Batangas where they conducted interviews, created a persona and craft persona’s needs statement and project statement, validated insights and needs, developed concepts, and co-created solutions to address the needs of communities using existing prototypes.
TAIPEI ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL OFFICE (TECO) PHILIPPINES

Batangas State University hosted the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) meeting with the Region IV-A State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) Presidents, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) 4A Regional Director, and Philippine Society for Public Administration (PSPA) University of the Philippines-National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG) Executive Director at the 7th Floor of the CALABARZON Integrated Research and Training Center, BatStateU Pablo Borbon Main I on January 5, 2018. The meeting aimed to provide more scholarships, specifically for Filipino faculty members, to be able to pursue their higher studies in Taiwan universities. TECO Director, Mr. Jerry Chuang, elucidated TECO’s Scholarship Program Offerings that according to him are intended for Filipinos who wish to pursue graduate school studies in Taiwan or for those who are willing to learn the Mandarin Language in the Republic of China. The said scholarship offerings include three programs, (1) Ministry of Education (MOE) Scholarship, (2) Huayu (Mandarin) Enrichment Scholarship and, (3) International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF). Placino, Cavite State University President Dr. Hernando D. Robles, University of Rizal System President Dr.Marita R. Canapi, and Polytechnic University of the Philippines President and Dr. Emanuel C. De Guzman.
SPECIAL INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT DELEGATE OF THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT OF BATANGAS CAPITOL

To foster collaborations and partnerships with different stakeholders, Batangas State University welcomed representatives from the Special International Investment Delegate of the Provincial Government of Batangas Capitol on January 5 at the Lecture Room, International Affairs Office, 2nd floor, CITE Building, BatStateU Pablo Borbon Main I.The delegates consisted of officials from both local and international institutions. They were Mr. Hans Tan of 3F Summit Investment and Management Inc., Ms. Wang Jing of Mind and Mettle International Education Group (Singapore), Mr. Charles Cheng of Golden International Holdings (Singapore), Mr. Louis Shi of Lean Finder Consulting (Singapore), Mr. Yang Xian Zheng of Heayi Cultural and Creative Co Ltd (Italy), and Mr. Mike Guzman of Kaisa Heritage Center (Philippines). As discussed, the possible collaboration will allow the University and its partner institutions to strengthen the conduct of international exchange programs which are catered to the faculty members, graduates, and students. These include employment of licensed BatStateU teachers who can teach English to Chinese students. In addition, the hired teachers will be learning Mandarin during their stay.
SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC – LEARNING EXPRESS PROGRAM

Singapore Polytechnic (SP) invited Batangas State University to be a partner in a Social Innovation Project (SIP) named Learning Express – Batangas in partnership with the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC). LeX projects aim to help three (3) local communities so that their local needs shall be addressed through the outcomes or solutions conceived by the LeX Batangas. BatStateU LeX Team composed of Dr. Vanessah V. Castillo, Engr. Edzel M. Gamab, Dr. Romel U. Briones and Asst. Prof. Armando V. Mendoza, Jr., attended a three day Design Thinking Seminar-Workshop on April 4 to 7, 2017 at Singapore Polytechnic.
OCEAN UNIVERSITY OF CHINA FORGES COLLABORATION WITH BATANGAS STATE UNIVERSITY

Delegates from Ocean University of China paid a visit to Batangas State University on April 18, 2017 to discuss possible collaboration and tie ups. As discussed, the partnership will focus on promoting Chinese language and culture through cultural exchange programs. The visit also opened opportunities for research studies on marine biodiversity.
Rotary club of batangas

The Rotary Club of Batangas sent a Vocational Exchange Team from Australia to Batangas State University on February 15-18, 2017to conduct seminars, class observations and develop professional relationships with the academic community. The team was composed of Mr. Michael J. Lapiña, Team Leader, Ms. Amanda Argyros, Education Admin and Tech, Ms. Alana McIntosh, Educator, Ms. Agnieszka Kosidlo, Audiologist, and Ms. Emily Brown, Leadership Performance Coach.
BATSTATEU, SOUTH KOREAN UNIVERSITIES AND GLOBAL KOREAN NURSING FOUNDATION FORGE PARTNERSHIP ON NURSING AND HEALTH CARE EDUCATION PROGRAM

BatStateU, South Korean Universities and Global Korean Nursing Foundation signed a memorandum of agreement on Nursing and Health Care Education Program last January 11, 2017, during a meeting organized by the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences and Extension Services Office. The collaboration was forged to conduct an international exchange program for the Korean nursing students. The exchange program shall be a means for valuable exchange of knowledge and technologies, outreach programs, and other related activities that will benefit people in chosen communities.
PARTNERSHIP MEETING WITH UNIVERSITY OF TRANSPORT TECHNOLOGY, VIETNAM

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Deputy Head of the Department of Science and Technology and International Cooperation, University of Transport Technology of Vietnam, visited Batangas State University to discuss possible academic collaboration between the universities. UTT- Hanoi sees possible collaboration on Research and Extension, Intensive English Training for its lecturers, twinning program, and exchange programs for students and faculty members.
Filipino-Korean Student Exchange Program with Dongwon Middle School, South Korea

Ten of Batangas State University’s Integrated School students visited Dongwon Middle School, South Korea on August 28 to September 3, 2016 for a student exchange program. Said program gave students the opportunity to learn and experience the history and culture of South Korea allowing them to enrich personal growth and development. This was made possible thru the initiative and support of Suseong-hu Office of Daegu Metropolotan City, South Korea. In June 2010, BatStateU and Dongwon Middle School entered into a memorandum of agreement to promote cultural understanding thru the conduct of cultural and educational exchange programs. Since then, a total of six batches have undergone the said programs.
Su-Seongu delegates visit BatStateU

Delegates from Su-Seongu, South Korea visited Batangas State University on July 22, 2016 to explore areas for a possible collaboration. University President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, Director for External Affairs Engr. Edzel M. Gamab and Director for Integrated School Assoc. Prof. Vilma R. Aguda, welcomed the participants during the meeting held at the Conference Room, International Affairs Office, CITE Buidling, BatStateU Pablo Borbon Main I, Batangas City.
