BatStateU co-organizes international research symposium on environment and green chemistry

Batangas State University continues to strengthen its research internationalization agenda as it partners with the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Malaysia for the International Virtual Symposium on Environmental and Green Chemistry for Sustainable Development (EnvChem2021) to be held on June 9, 2021.

UiTM is the largest institution of higher education in Malaysia based on physical infrastructure, faculty and staff, and student enrollment. It is also ranked as the 4th best university in Malaysia by Times Higher Education, and the 9th in the country based on GreenMetric World University rankings.

Bannering the theme, “University-Industry Synergy Towards Sustainable Development,” EnvChem2021 aims to serve as a platform for international researches, industries, and students to share the latest research findings related to sustainability in environmental and green chemistry. It also seeks to foster an interdisciplinary discussion and networking to further enhance and enrich the knowledge of participants in an environment and green chemistry.

BatStateU, as a co-organizer and an advocate of environmental sustainability research and initiatives, encourages educators, students, industry practitioners, and researchers to join the symposium. Relevant ideas and research findings will be discussed on the online platform using live streaming and pre-recorded video presentations. Selected papers will be published in Scopus-indexed journals and conference proceeding.

Some of the university’s faculty on Chemical Engineering, and Environment and Sanitary Engineering, Chemistry, and Marine Biodiversity serve as Paper Reviewers and Session Chairs for the symposium. They shall screen papers for possible presentation under the following tracks: Environmental Monitoring and Management, Environmental Modelling and Technology, Pollution control and mitigation, Climate change Sustainable development, Green Chemistry Techniques, Separation and Purification Technologies, and Pure and Applied Chemistry.

EnvChem 2021 is also co-organized by the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology in Indonesia and the University of the Philippines – Diliman.
