BatStateU-The NEU accedes to world-class status as a CDIO collaborator, further strengthening the Philippines’ Engineering Education

Batangas State University, The National Engineering University (BatStateU-The NEU), achieved yet another significant milestone with the official approval of its world-class status as a CDIO (Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate) collaborator. CDIO is known as a global educational framework for engineering education whose goal is to train the leaders of tomorrow in engineering.

CDIO gives students a well-rounded education with a focus on engineering basics and real-world systems and products. Leading universities worldwide have adopted this initiative, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Tsinghua University, and the Chalmers University of Technology. As a collaborator, BatStateU-The NEU extends its network of academic institutions worldwide, allowing for the sharing of best practices and fostering a dynamic, experiential, and collaborative learning environment.

“We are delighted to become one of the three collaborators of CDIO in the Philippines, and one of the 52 in Asia, joining a global community of 183 universities committed to providing students with a truly unique and transformative educational experience,” said Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, President of BatStateU-The NEU. “Its approach aligns perfectly with our mission to provide a rigorous and relevant education that prepares our students to become industry-ready graduates and build a stronger nation,” Dr. Ronquillo underscored.

This achievement is a testament to the University’s commitment to delivering 21st-century world-class education to produce future-ready engineering leaders. Thus, BatStateU-The NEU continues to take the lead in advancing engineering education among SUCs and other HEIs in the country, contributing to the growth and development of the engineering profession in the Philippines and beyond.
