CDIO Workshop 2022

CDIO 2022

The CDIO-SP Five-Day Workshop, co-organized by Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and the Center for Innovation in Engineering Education (CIEE), was attended by 40 faculty members from BatStateU Alangilan. The workshop, held from June 22-24 and June 30-July 1, centered on the CDIO (Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate) educational framework. On the first day, participants explored the CDIO framework, focusing on teaching and learning competencies, as well as the 12 CDIO Standards.

On the second day, the workshop introduced the concept of STEEP (Social, Technological, Economic, Environmental, Political) analysis, emphasizing its impact on education and the alignment of CDIO skills with future graduate attributes. The third day involved integrated curriculum design and an exploration of the industry landscape, where participants designed posters and project plans based on SP's multidisciplinary approach.

Day four focused on active teaching-learning approaches and assessment methods, with participants engaging in peer-to-peer sharing sessions. The final day was dedicated to action planning for adopting the CDIO framework in curriculum redesign, with faculty members outlining key institutional commitments for the next six months. The workshop concluded with participants gaining a refreshed understanding of education, curriculum design, and teaching.
