On May 9, 2024, Batangas State University (BatStateU) conducted the IT Specialist Certification in Computer Networking for students and faculties held at the CET Building’s Computer Laboratory 1 and 2.
A total of 29 students from the BSIT major in Network Technology and 51 students from the BIT major in Computer Technology, alongside three dedicated faculties from the College of Informatics and Computing Sciences, eagerly participated in the certification exam. The examination was accredited by MC Tech Training and Assessment Center, a renowned authority in the field, while Certiport Pearson served as the testing provider, ensuring the process adhered to international standards. To ensure the integrity and security of the exam, a robust online platform provided by Certiport was utilized. Dr. Luisa Macatangay and Mr. Glen Comia, the proctors from MC Tech Training and Assessment Center, diligently supervised the proceedings, ensuring that each examinee had a fair opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills.
The IT Specialist Certification project had several objectives in mind. Firstly, it aimed to provide students with an industry-recognized certification, validating their expertise in computer networking. This certification would serve as a testament to their dedication and hard work, enhancing their career prospects in the IT industry. Furthermore, the project sought to enhance the practical skills and knowledge of both students and faculty members, allowing them to stay ahead in the ever-evolving field of computer networking. By participating in the certification process, the students and faculties engaged in continuous learning and professional development. Finally, the certification initiative served as a valuable form of faculty development, providing an opportunity for the educators to validate their teaching methodologies and ensure that they were effectively imparting knowledge to their students As the results were announced, joy and celebration filled the air. A total of 12 students successfully passed the examination, demonstrating their competence and dedication to the field of computer networking Accompanying them were the three faculties who demonstrated their expertise and commitment to continuous growth.
The IT Specialist Certification in Computer Networking at BatStateU was not merely an exam but a transformative experience. It empowered the students and faculties, validating their skills and knowledge while propelling them towards a future filled with exciting opportunities in the IT industry.
