ASCENT 2024

BatState-U CIEE ASCENT’ 24 Home ASCENT 2024 “Visioning for the Future: Innovations for Sustainability” ASCENT 2024 In a time where the future of our planet hangs in the balance, the ability to vision—to develop and commit to a preferred future—becomes a prime foresight skill. Visioning, as part of the Foresight Framework, involves proactive and strategic thinking, anticipating future trends, and influencing outcomes to align with sustainability goals. Universities play a critical role in steering the trajectory towards socio-economic and environmental sustainability. The Annual Student Conference for Engineering and Technology (ASCENT) 2024 at BatStateU The National Engineering University harnesses this foresight framework in part, focusing on influencing sustainable development through innovative engineering and technology solutions. This year’s theme, “Visioning for the Future: Innovations for Sustainability,” calls on the next generation of engineers, technologists, and scientists to envision and shape a future where sustainability and innovation are the cornerstones of progress. The ASCENT ‘24 serves as a dynamic platform for undergraduate students across a spectrum of disciplines, including engineering, architecture, informatics, computer science, industrial technology, agriculture, and forestry, to present their visionary projects. These projects, born from capstone endeavors, final-year outputs, and advanced coursework, reflect a commitment to sustainability and an innovative approach to solving contemporary challenges. Aligning with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, ASCENT ‘24 invites students to contribute to the global effort of achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through visionary thinking and innovative practices, students can lead the charge in addressing issues such as climate change, resource depletion, and socio-economic disparities.
