Team size: Team of 2 to 5 members, with at least one dedicated team member. Scalability potential: Acceleration programs are designed to help startups rapidly scale their businesses. Startups should demonstrate the potential for rapid growth and scalability. Commitment: Startups should be committed to the program and willing to actively participate in mentorship, educational components, and culminating activities. Within the 6-month program, startups are equipped with the skills and confidence to refine their pitches, showcase their potential, and engage with potential investors. The organization was spearheaded by Adviser, Asst. Prof. Marianne M. Custodio and President Jabbar M. Matuan, alongside a dedicated team of 26 officers and committee members. Their collective vision was to create an inclusive and dynamic platform that fosters excellence, leadership, and community engagement among its members. HOME is committed to equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to become competent educators and responsible leaders. With a strong emphasis on multi-skilled development, innovation, and lifelong learning, the organization provides opportunities for students to enhance their expertise in various fields of Home Economics. To provide workshops in different sectors of Home Economics ORGANIZATIONAL ACTIVITIES: COMMITMENT TO SERVICE, SKILL DEVELOPMENT, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROJECT GREEN: GROWING RESILIENCE THROUGH EDUCATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL NURTURING (1-year Extension Program) Project GREEN is a one-year extension program aimed to equip participants, particularly PTA officers from Rosario West Central School, with essential vegetable gardening techniques and sustainable practices. This initiative, spearheaded by Asst. Prof. Marianne M. Custodio and the Home Economics Organization of Multi-Skilled Educators, kicked off with a three-day seminar, training and workshop. Throughout the seminar, resource speakers delivered engaging discussions on vegetable gardening, organic fertilizer production, pest management, vertical and container gardening, hydroponics, and post- harvest handling. Interactive activities, including hands-on workshops and knowledge assessments, provided participants mainly PTA officers and parents with practical skills to enhance their own gardening efforts. The program emphasized collaboration between students, educators, and the community, ensuring that learning extended beyond the classroom. Participants expressed enthusiasm and commitment to applying their newfound knowledge to strengthen the Gulayan sa Paaralan initiative and promote sustainable living practices within their communities. With this successful launch, Project Green is set to continue fostering environmental responsibility and skill development, further empowering individuals to create a greener and more resilient future. BUMIDA AT HOME-RIT, TARA SALI NA: HEART COMPETITIONS (November 7-8, 2024) The Bumida at HOME-rit, Tara Sali Na: HEart Competitions, held on November 7-8, 2024, was a highlight of College Days at Batangas State University – The NEU, Jose B. Zuño – Rosario Campus, showcasing the talents, creativity, and knowledge of BTLED-HE students. Led by President Jabbar M. Matuan, officers and committee members meticulously planned two major competition categories: the Academic Competition (Techno Bee) and the Skills Competition, which featured Sustainable Home Decor, Commercial Spoofing, and Tote Bag Making. The event opened with Tote Bag Making, where participants demonstrated their sewing and design skills using eco-friendly materials. In the afternoon, the Techno Bee competition tested students’ expertise in Home Economics, Industrial Arts, Agriculture and Fishery Arts, ICT, and Food Preparation. The next day featured the Sustainable Home Decor Contest, where students displayed their home decorations using recyclable materials, and the Commercial Spoofing competition, which showcased students’ humor and creativity in recreating popular advertisements. The awarding ceremony on November 8 recognized the top three winners in each category, celebrating their excellence in craftsmanship, innovation, and academic knowledge. Special awards were given for social media engagement in the Commercial Spoofing competition. The event emphasized sustainability, with waste segregation stations and the use of recyclable materials throughout the activities. With enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, the competition successfully promoted sustainability, creativity, and academic excellence, leaving a lasting impact on the BTLED-HE community. In line with the event’s commitment to sustainability, waste management practices were well- implemented throughout the two-day celebration. Each competition and activity followed eco-friendly protocols to minimize environmental impact. Waste segregation stations were strategically placed to encourage proper disposal and recycling of materials.
