At BatStateU, we address problems of the community, the society and the industry through collaborative research. From the social concerns and challenges translating to innovative solutions such as amphibious vehicles and disaster communication portals to achieving sustainable development goals for the environment protection of VIP and Taal, rural development, urbanization and digitalization.
Aboard the Tactical Operative Amphibious Drive or TOAD is Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo. TOAD is a four-wheel vehicle fabricated using locally-available materials such as stainless steel and aluminum. This can be used in emergency response operations specifically in areas submerged in flood
BatStateU researchers developed a machine for pasteurizing milk and juices: the Ultra High Temperature (UHT) and High Temperature Short Time (HTST) Pasteurizer. This aims to assist the fruit juice and milk industries in developing safer and high quality products.
The Solar-powered fish dryer is a BatStateU technology incubated by the Center for Technology and Innovation (CTI), initially developed for the local residents of a coastal community in Talisay, Batangas.
The Solar-Powered Isotropic Generator of Acoustic Wave (SIGAW) was developed by BatStateU researchers to ensure the safety of the citizens by providing early warning through a siren or an alarm and a text message.

In 2018, the University’s Adaptive Capacity- building and Technology Innovation for Occupational Hazards and Natural Disaster (ACTION Center) has been active in sending its personnel in local and national trainings sponsored by different partners and organizations relative to contingency planning, hazard mapping and assessment conduct of drills and DRRM trainings.

Developed by BatStateU through local funds and Private-Public Partnerships, the KIST Park will offer startup incubation, patent services, and technical support on product development.

One of the institutionally-funded projects of the university is the conduct of a preliminary marine biodiversity survey of Verde Island carried out by the VIP CORALS focusing on selected species of corals, fish, seaweeds, seagrasses, and invertebrates present in the area.

One of the start-ups of CTI called ROBIN (Recycle on Demand Bin) was invited to participate in the ASEAN – JAIF Business Matching Program in Singapore. ROBIN’s Chief Technical Officer Mr. Emmanuel Bobis pitched during the event and has met several investors who are interested in the start-up.

The InfoDev Business Incubation Management Study Mission was held in Bangalore and Coimbatore in India where VP for Research, Development, and Extension Services and CTI Head Engr. Albertson Amante was among the other Technology Business Incubator (TBI) representatives from the PH who joined the study mission.
The VIP CORALS team in partnership with SEA-VIP conducted an EcoCamp by the Sea attended by the BatStateU IS Grade School and High School teachers.
A coastal cleanup was conducted during the EcoCamp by the Sea for BatStateU IS Teachers spearheaded by the VIP CORALS.
Part of the Saknungan sa VIP 2019 symposium was the signing of MOU between DLSU and BatStateU; and MOA between the California Academy of Sciences and BatStateU for collaborative research. The symposium aimed to build a sustainable Verde Island Passage through Citizen Science.
CTI is a BatStateU TBI established in August 2014 with the goal of bringing R&D results of the university to the real world and building a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem among faculty members, staff, and students that will add fresh impetus to the innovation ecosystem.
The goal of the establishment of the VIP CORALS is to help sustain the richness and diversity of the Verde Island Passage, through research projects that will monitor the marine ecosystem. It shall also form linkages with surrounding institutions, organizations, local government units and common fisherfolks.
