Community Café: Consultative Meetings for Developing Local Government Partnership for the Implementation of Research and Extension Activities and Needs Assessment Barangay Cahigam, Rosario, Batangas on March 5, 2021 Community Immersion and Assessment The consultative meetings with the Barangay Captain of Cahigam, Hon. Dante A. Alday; the Barangay Administrator, Hon. Eduardo A. Castillo; and the Barangay Council and the needs assessment utilizing community café as tool were conducted February 13, 2021 at Quatro Vidas Resort, Cahigam, Rosario, Batangas. The schedule of the needs assessment was moved earlier due to the availability of the barangay focal persons.

Two team meetings were conducted to discuss the results of the needs assessment and the local presentation of the proposed plan of activities, and to finalize the projects/activities to be conducted through adopt-a-barangay project in Barangay Cahigam on February 23 and 24, 2021 at Batangas State University Rosario.

And on March 5, 2021 the proposed plan of activities was presented to the Barangay Captain and Barangay Administrator of Cahigam at Quatro Vidas Resort, Cahigam, Rosario, Batangas. Barangay Cahigam officially accepted the partnership with Batangas State University Rosario in the conduct of extension activities from March 2021 to December 2021. The schedule of presentation was rescheduled from March 4 to March 5 due to the availability of the involved parties.

 

Women’s Wellness Retreat @ BatStateU Rosario: 2021 National Women’s Month Celebration BatStateU Rosario

on March 1-30, 2021

Gender and Development The project was implemented from March 1 to 30, 2021. The execution of the activities were a combination of online and face-to-face modes observing strict compliance of the COVID- 19 Safety Prevention Protocol.

The campus director, head and coordinators of research and extension, and department chairs of the three colleges spearheaded eight major activities: kick-off activity, #PurpleMondays, participation and promotion

of online advocacy, forum on women and flexible work arrangement, recognition of women and men of BatStateU Rosario; 7-day fitness challenge; participation on the 4 online forum series of PCW; and promotion of MusikJuana songwriting competition.

The month-long celebration was participated by the 1,492 female and male stakeholders of BatStateU

Rosario.

Pakikisalamuha sa Tribo: A Needs Assessment Activity in the Aeta Tribal Community in Barangay Putting Kahoy, Rosario, Batangas Aeta Tribal Community, Putingkahoy, Rosario, Batangas on March 10, 2021 Community Immersion and Needs Assessment On March 10, 2021, the Needs Assessment Activity for the Aeta Community at Putting Kahoy, Rosario, Batangas thru the office of extension services was conducted. The faculty members of Batangas State University Rosario, including the CABEIHM, CIT and CTE facilitated the said activity. It is conducted to gain a better understanding of the area the university wanted to serve. It also helped the academe to identify the strengths and gaps as well as opportunities and challenges face by the community. The Faculty members arrived at the Brgy hall at around 9:00 am. The Brgy. Captain Mr. Rowell Gamab, warmly welcomed the faculty members and invited them inside his office for a brief discussion of the activity. Safety precautionary measures were observed while inside the premises of Brgy hall and Aeta community. After a short conversation with the Brgy captain, a token of appreciation was given to him by the Extension Coordinator, Mr. James Carlo M. Inandan together with him were the department chair of the College of Teacher Education, Ms. Christine C. Cordero and also the department chair of the college of Industrial Technology, Asst. Prof. Evelyn B. Manumbali.

“Preparing Red Spartans Amidst to New Normal Set up of On-the Job Training” Virtual Webinar at BatStateU Rosario on January 25, 2021 Gender and Development The On-the-Job Training Office held an OJT orientation/seminar with the theme “PREPARING

RED SPARTAN: AMIDST TO THE NEW NORMAL APPROACH To ON-THE-JOB TRAINING” on January 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. for students who will take Internship Training program on 2nd sem 2020-2021 for Business Administration major in Human Resource Development, Marketing, and Financial Management. The exercise was spearheaded by Ms. Joan Camille A. Verdadero, the coordinator of the On-the-job training office, and was carried out online using the Goggle Meet Application. It is done to comply with the government's current normal strategy of avoiding physical contact due to the pandemic. The seminar's goal is to familiarize incoming student trainees for the first semester of 2020-2021 with their internship program, work ethics during the training period, sexual harassment, and health and safety protocols. Before the activity began, each section had an attendance

check to ensure that all students were present.

 

E-Career Guidance for Junior and Senior High School of Rosario and Taysan Webinar: Zoom App and FB Live Streaming on April 28, 2022

 

Technical Assistance and Advisory Services and Community Outreach The Extension Service Office of Batangas State University Rosario spearheaded a webinar with the theme: “E-Career

Guidance for Junior and Senior High School of Rosario and Taysan” held on April 28, 2021, at 9 am via Zoom App

and Facebook live which was participated by more than one thousand participants. The objective of this webinar was

to assist junior and senior students in making their career path decision. The program started with an opening prayer

led by Mrs. Marianne M. Custodio and was followed by the National Anthem. The said webinar was formally started with welcome remarks from Dr. Rosalinda M. Comia, Campus Director of BatState-U Rosario. She gave an overview of the webinar’s theme and the benefits that the participants and other stakeholders will get from this webinar. Subsequently, Mrs. Christine C. Cordero, Associate Dean of CTE, introduces the resource speaker of the webinar – Mrs. Arlene Canarias – Pureza, Guidance Counselor of DepEd Batangas.

Learning Session on Stress Management for High School and College Students

 

Webinar: Zoom App and FB Live Streaming on April 15, 2021

 

 

Technical Assistance and Advisory Program On April 15, 2021, the webinar on Stress Management for High School and College Students was conducted. The faculty members of the College of Teacher Education, Batangas State University Rosario conducted the activity which aims to promote mental health and wellness among high school and college students who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This project was implemented using Zoom and streamed live to Facebook page of Batangas State University Rosario Campus.

The activity started with a prayer leaded by Mr. Samuel Comia, a CTE faculty member, followed by the singing of the

Philippine National Anthem. Then, Dr. Myra A. Bersoto, the Head of Research, Development and Extension Services Office -Rosario, welcomed the participants from the different National High Schools, colleges and universities of Batangas. It was then followed by the message of the Chancellor of BatStateU – Pablo Borbon, Dr. Expedito V. Acorda. He acknowledged the efforts of all the administrators and officials of the University for conducting this very timely activity. He also

commended Mr, Ar-Jay D. Perez for being consistent in giving his support to this kind of activity. He then encouraged all the participants to listen attentively to all the lectures that Mr. Perez will be sharing.

The resource speaker, Mr. Ar-Jay D. Perez, a Licensed Professional Teacher, a registered Psychometrician and the Program Chairperson of the Psychology Department of BatStateU – JPLPC Malvar was introduced by Mr. Samuel Comia.

Virtual Talk on Preparing for the Jobs of the Future Padre Garcia National High School, Padre Garcia, Batangas (to be delivered via Google Meet) on May 12, 2022 Technical Assistance and Advisory Services and Community Outreach Batangas State University Rosario in collaboration with Padre Garcia National High School (host school), and Dr. Rene E. Bersoto, the Consultant of Asian Consulting and Training Group, Makati City facilitated a virtual talk on the Jobs of the Future to 500 senior high school students, parents/guardians and teachers via video conferencing on May 12, 2021 during the host school’s career expo. The virtual talk was facilitated to three batches of the 473 senior high students and 27 teachers, school administrators and guests.

This project is in response to the request of Ms. Carol C. Macalalad, Career Guidance Coordinator of Padre Garcia National High School for the conduct of career talk for the senior high school students of Padre Garcia National High School.

Learning Session Series: Gulayan sa Tahanan, Tugon sa Malnutrisyon at Kahirapan May 17, 2021 LIVE via Zoom and Facebook Technical & Advisory Services Another successful extension activity was initiated by the College of Teacher Education in partnership with Maximo T. Hernandez Memorial National High School last May 17, 2021, titled as “Gulayan sa Tahanan, Tugon sa Malnutrisyon at Kahirapan.” This was a response of both institutions to the call of the national government through DepEd Memo No. 22, series of 2016 which aimed to promote food security and economic stability. Of course, the said extension service will never be that successful without the support of the administration headed by the Campus Director, Dr. Rosalinda M. Comia who gave her welcome remarks and some sort of inspiration. The presence of Dr. Maxima Javier with the full support of her faculty, staff, parents, and students made the target audience blown exceedingly to 151 participants from what was expected 80 participants.

Batangas State University Rosario on May 21, 2021 Technical Assistance and Advisory Program to Agencies, Organizations, Associations, and other Groups On May 21, 2021, Friday at exactly 02:00 P.M., the College of Industrial Technology hosted a webinar for extension service entitled "Python Programming Basics using PyCharm IDE" through Zoom and Facebook Live. The moderator, Mr. Bryan Macasaet, energized the students and faculty of Batangas State University Rosario together with other schools here in Batangas. The webinar began with a prayer and

the singing of the national anthem, followed by the welcoming remarks of Dr. Rosalinda M. Comia, the Campus Director of the BatStateU Rosario, who spoke on the importance of different programming languages and all the opportunities it will provide if we are going to study and understand it's essentials.

Implemented via Zoom and Facebook Live on May 21, 2021 Technical Assistance On May 21, 2021, Friday at exactly 09:00 a.m., the College of Industrial Technology hosted a webinar extension service entitled "Writing Full Paper for Scientific Publication and Presentation" through zoom and Facebook live. The moderator, Mr. Bryan Macasaet, energized the students and faculty of Batangas State University's Rosario and Lipa campuses. The webinar began with a prayer and the singing

of the national anthem, followed by the welcome remarks of Dr. Rosalinda M. Comia, Campus Director of the BatStateu Rosario, who spoke on the importance of research in our lives also by noting that, in light of today's unforeseen events, appropriate sleep and rest are critical for maintaining a healthy body and becoming more competent in providing information for the success of writing a research paper.

BatStateU Rosario’s Office of the Head of Research and Extension, Guidance and Counseling Office, GAD Office in

collaboration with the Supreme Student Council and the Three colleges: CTE, CABEIHM, and CIT hosted the training for parents and students across levels through a webinar on parental engagement and school success on August 19, 2021;

9:00am-1:00pm via Google Meet and FB Page of SSC Rosario live streaming. The activity was conceptualized and

conducted in response to the reported concerns of increasing number of dropping and cases of low academic performance

of students across year levels during SY 2020-2021 due to students’ lack of support system at home.

 

The parent and child in tandem of Mrs. Ledenila S. Delen, a mother of successful alumni of BatStateU Rosario and a retired public high school teacher, and Mr. Jodel S. Delen, an internation teacher at Jinan Lixia Aviv Education Training School, Lixia District, Jinan City, Shandong, China, and one of the luminary students of BatStateU Rosario, (BSED English) Batch 2015, were the inspiring, motivating and excellent the guest resource speakers. The participants expressed their takeaways through actively responding to the checkpoint questions and also showed enthusiasm to the online challenge posted by Mr. Delen. Prizes for the winners were provided by the speaker.

The said webinar is the first phase of the virtual training series, that is concluded last September 29, 2021 (9:00 AM until 12:00 NN), via Google meet which had 90 participants and was broadcasted live in Facebook with 1.3k viewers. This was participated by the students and faculty of Batangas State

University – Rosario Campus, parents and homemakers who are interested in gardening. Guest Speakers were also invited as reliable sources for the training namely Ms. Bernadette F. Cabanig and Ms. Aileen M. Abante. The first session of the webinar was presented by Ms. Cabanig discussing her topic on Establishment of Food Garden. From this, participants learned the steps in home gardening such as choosing the right location, selecting your veggies, selecting best soil, checking your planting dates, planting seeds/seedlings, adding water, keeping the weeds out, giving your plants room to grow,

fertilize as needed, and reaping what you sow; differences between organic and chemical fertilizers; other things to remember as gardener; and the benefits of food gardening. It gave knowledge to the participants on how to create home garden effectively. In the second session of the webinar, participants learned the Maintenance of Food Garden that is presented by Ms. Abante. On her topic, she discussed the benefits of home gardening, things to do to give nutrients in plants, importance of NPK, types of compost and how to use it, and applying different types of fertilizer. She also presented various video tutorials on how to prepare and apply types of fertilizers so that participants easily understand what is being discussed.

E-Coaching Activity on Inventory Management for DTI Taysan: Coaching for Retail Enterprises DTI Negosyo Center Taysan

Virtual Conferencing via Zoom on September 22, 2021

 

Technical and Advisory Services BatStateU Rosario’s CABEIHM Department, in partnership with DTI Negosyo Center Taysan, facilitated the coaching

activity in Inventory Management for MSME’s business owners specifically for retailers September 22 2021; 9:00am-

12:00pm via Zoom. The activity was conceptualized and conducted in response to request from the DTI agency to perform this activity as a good opportunity to promote business, improve business operations and management, and develop the capacity of entrepreneurs.

The coaching activity was actively participated by two business owners/entrepreneurs together with the DTI Negosyo Center Representatives. In addition, the DTI representative diligently observed the flow of the coaching activity. The importance of Retail Inventory Management was emphasized in the discussion through set of circumstances illustrations and the mentor's shared experience. The use of an Inventory Management System via Microsoft Excel that had been personally prepared by the mentor was discussed and presented to the business owners for them to apply or use in their inventory monitoring and control. This inventory system will assist business owners/entrepreneurs in checking their stocks and inventory balances within their store.

BatStateU Rosario CARES: Team up with Calantas Senior High School for Education Collaborative Assistance for Rich Educational Experiences for All Senior High School Students (CARES) Project BatStateU Rosario, Namunga Rosario, Batangas (Pick-up point of donations) Virtual Turnover Ceremony (Zoom/Google Meet) on October 1, 2022 Community Outreach BatStateU Rosario’s Office of the Head of Research and Extension supported Calantas Senior and National High School during the National Balik Eskwela 2021: Bayanihan para sa Paaralan through the BatStateU Rosario CARES Project: Team up with Calantas Senior High School for Education Collaborative Assistance for Rich Educational Experiences for All Senior High School Students (CARES). The printing supplies: 30 reams of A4 bond paper, and 20 bottles of ink (printer) were handed to the 19 teachers and 400 students of Calantas Senior and National High School on through the virtual turnover ceremony on October 1, 2021; 2:30pm -4:00pm via Google Meet and picked-up by the two teacher-representatives of Calantas Senior and National High School, Ms. Jhazel Perez and Mr Melvin Reyes on October 5, 2021 at Batangas State University Rosario.

Scarcity in food supply, ravenousness for some, and the negative change in climate are things that motivates the CTE family of Rosario to conduct a series of webinars to the homemakers, entitled “Empowering Homemakers Through Green Thinking: A virtual Training Series.” In this webinar series the homemakers will recapture the importance of home gardening. The essence of this activity is to enlighten the clients that home gardening is an essential tool of each household to avoid disasters such as in financial aspects and environment. Furthermore, the second phase of the webinar was about Gardening as a family activity and can be an income magnet for the homemakers and the family itself.

The said webinar is the second phase of the virtual training series, that is concluded last October 8, 2021 (9:00 AM until 12:00 NN), via Google meet which had 154 participants and was broadcasted live in Facebook with 499 viewers. This was participated by the students and faculty of Batangas State University – Rosario Campus, parents and homemakers who are interested in gardening. Guest Speakers were also invited as reliable sources for the training namely Engr. Clarisse A. Comia. As Engr. Comia stated, she explained how important home gardening can be a market opportunity. The speaker also stated the advantages of being an entrepreneur. To add on to this, positive responses may occur as in a business but

not to all, and risk and failure can be eminent.

Food Security in a household is a premiere responsibility of a family. It is a necessity for a family to have a proper amount of nutritious food in their plates. But this current situation, the COVID-19 pandemic, created numerous dilemma that triggers us to change game in food supply and security. Another issue is environmental concerns. Conserving the environment is a compelling issue that everyone must be educated. All of these issues may be answered by an activity called home gardening. To answer this situated concern, the CTE and the CIT conducted a webinar series Empowering Homemakers through Green Thinking: A Virtual Training Series. The 3rd phase of this webinar concentrates on how to improve the food security while conserving the environment.

 

The said webinar is the third phase of the virtual training series, that is concluded last October 19, 2021 (9:00 AM until 12:00 NN), via Google meet which had participants and was broadcasted live in Facebook with 22 viewers. This was participated by the students and faculty of Batangas State University – Rosario Campus, parents and homemakers who are interested in gardening. Guest Speakers were also invited as reliable sources for the training namely Mr. Mark Anthony C. Lat. As Mr. Lat stated, he explained how important home gardening can create a path for food security and generate ideas in protecting the environment. The resource speaker introduces that home gardening secures a family a food to eat.

As Maritine Petelot stated on her comment about small community garden on Paris France, she stated,

“Our garden allows us to work the earth, to watch things grow. People need to scratch about the soil, breathe in the scent of the plant and flower, let off steam and meet other people. For many, it’s most like therapy.” This importance of having green spaces in our home to help earth from the devastating effect of human waste and pollution is prominent now. Saving planet while having fun time with the family triggered the CTE family to conduct a series of webinar to alleviate the awareness of its community to home gardening and its potential use for humanity and environment.

The conducted 4th phase of the webinar focused on how the, home makers will push their selves to create their open space into much more productive and beneficial space while having fun time making their surrounding relaxing, environment friendly, edible, attractive and budget wise to the homemakers’ family. As mentioned, it is the 4th phase of the webinar series, that is concluded last October 28, 2021 (9:00 AM until 12:00 NN), via Google meet which had participants and was broadcasted live in Facebook with 570 viewers. This was participated by the students and faculty of Batangas State University – Rosario Campus, parents and homemakers who are interested in gardening. Guest Speakers were also invited as reliable sources for the training namely Ms. Milane C. Bagsit, a GPP Coordinator, TSIS.

Operational Safe Spaces for All: 2021 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women BatStateU Rosario Delivered via Google Meet and FB live streaming on November 25 to December 12, 2021 Gender and Development The 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) was conducted on November 25 to December 12, 2021.The project was guided by the Memorandum Circular NO. 2021-05. The theme “VAW-free community starts with Me” will be adopted. And the highlight of the campaign will be the Republic Act No. 11313: Safe Spaces Act (Bawal Bastos Law), with the slogan Filipino Marespeto; Safe Spaces, Kasali Tayo. The following activities in line with this year’s campaign theme were conducted:

Kick-off Program of the 18-Day Campaign. The campaign was launched on November 15 via Google Meet and FB live

streaming in the Batangas State University Rosario. The eight activities for the 2021 campaign were discussed by Dr. Bersoto. Messages and invitation to participate were rendered by Ms. Erin Iris delos Santos, Dr. Expedito Acorda, Dr. Rosalinda Comia, Dr. Dyzel Asi and Dr. Luzviminda Abacan. Campaign videos were also shown to reinforce the advocacy to end violence against women. Sixty-four (64) students, teaching and non-teaching personnel, alumni and parents/guardians participated in the Google Meeting and 643 students and parents/guardians viewed the live streaming via FB Page.

Safe Spaces Pledge. The commitment-sharing of the stakeholders of the University was sealed by a pledge recitation held November 25, 2021 via Google Meet and FB livestreaming.

Let’s Make this a Safe Space Ground Campaign. Materials like posters and brochures were produced and adopted (PCW

printable materials and posters) and distributed. Posting of visual messages and streamers/tarpaulin, and distribution of EIC to the different offices, sidewalks, alleys, restrooms, and other spaces, and on FB Pages and sharing on FB GCs was facilitated by the GAD Office and Office of Guidance and Counseling and Student with Special Needs and PWD from November 25 to December 12, 2021.The campaign reached 1000 stakeholders online and 300 personals (distribution of brochures and streamers).

Orange Your Icon Advocacy Initiative. This initiative enjoins the University to color its major landmarks or icons with orange (decorate with orange lights) from November 25 to December 12. The logo and signage at the façade of the campus were be decorated with LED lights. This initiative aims to attract and spark public’s curiosity which provides opportunities for advocates to explain and to declare their support to the Anti-VAW advocacy. This served as a springboard for public discourse and for disseminating the message of zero-tolerance for VAW. Online campaign. Students, teaching and non-teaching staff, parents/guardians, and alumni used the 18-Day Campaign to End VAW Facebook Profile Frame and Digital Banner as Facebook Cover.

Forum on RA 11313. The forum on RA 11313: Safe Spaces Act. Atty. Joycelyn Hernandez, Mr. Angelito Alexis Evangelio and Mr. Joeven Santos provided clear discussion of RA 11313. Inspirational messages were also shared by Dr. Myra Bersoto, Dr. Expedito ACorda and Dr. Rosalinda Comia. The forum was held on December 10, 2021, 9:00am – 12:00nn via Google Meet and FB live streaming. The online forum was attended by 151 students, alumni. faculty and non-teaching personnel.

Last December 01, 2021, from 9:00am to 12:00pm, the 4 P’s Webinar Forum: Pangkabuhayan Para sa Pamilyang 4 P’s Program via Zoom and Facebook Live was held. The faculty members of Batangas State University Rosario, particularly the CABEIHM Department together with the Supreme Student Council - Rosario facilitated the said activity. The said webinar was conducted through the initiative of the department and the council that aims to provide knowledge on how to start a business and the possible source of income they may use especially on this time of global COVID-19 pandemic. The activity was participated by students, 4Ps beneficiaries, and parents. The programme proper started with the invocation, national anthem and opening remarks from the Department Chair of CABEIHM, Dr.  Aquino B.  Dela Pena.  This was followed by the inspirational messages from the Dean of Colleges of BatStateU Rosario, Dr. Rosalinda M. When managing personal finances, having a clear objective and knowledge about one's finances is an essential part of creating a workable plan that is right for you. This involves creating a budget, choosing a bank, paying taxes, managing debt, investing, retirement planning, and estate planning. Idea of sharing the knowledge on this area to the community leads to the proposal of the CABEIHM to organized a webinar forum focus on managing finance to aid and provide awareness to the community, alumni, parents and other stakeholders of the university.  On December 3, 2021, the Webinar on Managing Personal Finances 2.0 during Pandemic via Google meet was held. Based on its analysis, the organization's main goal is to help entrepreneurs overcome obstacles in their operations. Department can assist and adopt a business for one to three years. Batangas State University is committed to helping students and its stakeholders to give reviews and additional knowledge, especially in community-based facts such as the safe space act or the "Bawal ang Bastos Law" under republic act 11313. This is defined as an act defining gender-based sexual harassment in streets, public spaces, online, workplaces, and educational or training institutions, providing protective measures and prescribing penalties. To answer the call to extend help to our community especially those taking up their Practice Teaching

course, the College of Teacher family conducted a webinar entitled Bridging the Gap: Practice Teaching in the Normal Training for the Pre-service Teacher Education. This is a series of webinars, and one of these webinars tackled was the Safe Space Act which was discussed by the guest speaker Atty. Alvin R. De Silva. This timely and vital webinar entitled Bridging the Gap: Practice Teaching in the New Normal Training for the Pre-service Teacher Education Students, was conducted last March 19, 2022 at 9:00am -4:00pm. Through a clear and comprehensive discussion by the guest speaker mentioned above, Atty. De Silva discussed important information that described the safe space act. This discussion covered what are the offences under the safe act such as catcalls, wolf-whistling, uninvited and malicious talks and actions, etc. and others mentioned are the offenders or who may commit the crime, particularly among professionals such as the teachers and its violations and consequences and the places that the crime may be committed, and whom to approach when these drastic incidents happened.

Knowing constitutional rights is a potent tool is for fundamental human rights. Ms. Salazar had discussed this law clear to its participants by discussing the acts that covers the data privacy act, implementers of the data privacy act, how to comply with the data privacy act, and violations and penalty of the data privacy act. In her lecture, she exposed the practice teachers to facts to know their rights regarding data privacy. This information also served as a protection for them and their clients.

BatStateU Rosario CARES: Bayanihan para sa Kaligtasan ng Paaralan Para sa Pagpapatupad ng Face-to-Face Learning Modality Itlugan Elementary School, Itlugan, Rosario, Batangas on April 1, 2022 Community Outreach BatStateU Rosario CARES is a response to the opportunity to promote safe and protected learning space for learners and address the emerging concerns of teachers and school heads and to respond to the request for collaborative assistance for the students and teachers of Itlugan Elementary School. This project aims to extend the University’s help in the effective and efficient implementation of the Face-to-Face Learning Modality through supplies and equipment donation. Dr. Myra Bersoto and Ms. Mary-Ann Carandang of the Research and Extension Office delivered and turned-over the donations at Itlugan Elementary School. Dr. Belen E. Reyes, the Principal, and the two teachers Ms. Florence C. Mayo and Esteleta B. Mendoza received the donations and signed the acknowledgement receipts of the safety and protective supplies.

Batangas State University is committed to providing a continuous relationship with its stakeholders. To attune with the needs of the community to become more equipped in handling events, the CABEIHM department has initiated a webinar/coaching activity entitled: “Coaching Activity: A Virtual Forum on Enhancing Careers through delivering an effective Event Management Programs”. This coaching

webinar activity tackled different areas on how to organize an effective event management activity. Phase 1 was held on April 12, 2022, via google meet. The faculty members of Batangas State University Rosario led by the CABEIHM Department facilitated the webinar. His topic was focused on the following areas the introduction of Event management, how it was

defined, NCIII Event Management, Event Template, and Timeline of the Activity. He started his talk by giving a motivational quote from Victor Turner, which states that” Every human society celebrates with ceremony and rituals, its joy, sorrows, and triumph he discusses that those are the reasons why events took place. He also discusses that event management requires to have planning, organizing, directing,

coordinating, rewarding, motivating, and, rewarding people or staff to attain the vision and objectives of the event. That those areas should be taken into account to have a smooth flow of events and to create value for the event as well as the customers and society. As part of the discussions, he also uttered that

events may be according to purpose: to celebrate, convene, commune, and commerce and commune. Events may be organized in the accordance with the following frequency, monthly, quarterly, semestral, annual, biennial, triennial, and quadrennial. When it comes to the corporate set up events commonly took place monthly and quarterly. The event stakeholders were also tackled, including guests, event committee, event financer, and, event suppliers

The second part of the discussion focused on the introduction of the TESDA NCIII Event Management. He defined and provided the services offered by the TESDA as well as the skills that can be developed upon completing the assessment. The process and documents needed to be filled out and

submitted before the assessment period. The university decided to choose Le Prime Institute Technology to be the testing center for those who will take the assessment. The discussion also highlights that the takers from the batch in December 2019 gathered a 100% passing rate which is 17 out of 17 passers.

Testimonies from the passers provide the justifications that the certification and learnings gained are very beneficial where they were able to apply it to their work.

The third part of talked provided the needed contents of the proposals such as the event committee and responsibilities, letter of intent to the host, evet concept, and description. Time frame, event program, event site map, event venue, event layout, event marketing strategies, event budget/ financial plan,

contingency plan, event suppliers, event request letters, and event SWOT Analysis The last part focus on the time frames for the one-on-one coaching which will be held on April28-30 and the target day of assessment will be on May 20 or 27 which will be a face-to-face making and presentation with the assessors. The assessment will be an on-the-spot proposal making, in which the assessors will provide a topic or specific event which the takers will formulate their own proposal.

He ended his talk by providing and showing a sample proposal to the audience which was prepared and presented by him when he took up the NCIII certification held in December 2019. He also shared his personal experiences. Mr. John Zedric Barawidan as well as other students participated in an open forum that addressed concerns and questions from the audience.

This topic about Child

Protection Policy is the second of five extension webinar series that was conducted by the College of Teacher Education. In addition, Mr. Ronald Jayson H. Lontoc comprehensively explained the importance of this matter. The program proper started with a pre-test, followed by the invocation, national anthem, and welcome remarks from the Campus Director and Head of Academic Affairs, Dr. Rosalinda M. Comia. The guest speaker was formally introduced by Mr. Samuel G. Comi and give the recapitulation of the previous topic which signal the start of gaining insights from our sophisticated speaker namely Mr. Ronald Jayson H. Lontoc, DepEd faculty member.

This timely and vital webinar entitled Bridging the Gap: Practice Teaching in the New Normal Training for the Pre-service Teacher Education Students, was conducted last April 23, 2022. Through a clear and comprehensive discussion by the guest speaker mentioned above, Mr. Ronald H Lontoc discussed the importance of knowing the child protection policy specially for teachers. He reiterates that the school has placed this policy in a serious matter that needs to be followed. Through explanation, games, question and answer, Mr. Lontoc opened the eyes of each participants in what action can be taken when a certain scenario exists. This child protection policy aims to protect children from any forms of violence that may be inflicted by the adults or person with authority. Bullying from co-students was also tacked at this event.

Step Up to Start UP (S2S): The Rosario Livestock and Agricultural Farming Cooperative’s Need Assessment and Validation Poblacion B, Rosario, Batangas on September 18-29, 2022 Technical Assistance and Advisory Services Program College of Accountancy, Business, Economics, and International Hospitality Management spearheaded the needs assessment in Rosario Livestock and Agricultural Farming Cooperative on April 18-29, 2022. This project aimed to determine the needs of the stakeholders as the basis for planning and implementing proposed activities.

The Rosario Livestock and Agricultural Farming Cooperative (TLARFC), formerly known as the Rosario Dairy Raisers

Association (RODRA) was registered as a cooperative last September 13, 2019. Presently, they are producing dairy products, particularly carabao milk in different flavors, pastillas, and kesong puti. As part of the project, an ocular visit and pre-need assessment were made last April 21, 2022 to determine the present status of the cooperative. With this, the team was able to see the operations of the cooperative, tasks performed by each personnel, the way they handle their clients as well as the limitations experienced. Based on the interview with Ms. Catherine A. Santiago, the general manager, the cooperative has expanded its operation through the assistance provided by different government agencies. In addition, most of its employees are members and their relatives as it is part of the cooperative’s objectives. Presently the cooperative is in partnership with DepEd wherein they provide packed carabao milk for its feeding program. This partnership contributes most of the income of the cooperative. It was also mentioned they are supplying their products outside the province, particularly to the retailers in Manila Area.

This webinar was the fourth in the CTE's webinar series, and it was held on April 30, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., via Google Meet. It was attended by Pre-service Teacher Education Students from Batangas State University Rosario and Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa, as well as Dr. Rosalinda M. Comia, who delivered the welcome remarks, Ms. Christine C. Cordero, who facilitated the webinar, Ms. Marianne M. Custodio, who recapitulated the previous sessions, Mr. Persius M. Garcia, who introduced the resource speaker. Dr. Jeffrey F. Florendo, OIC of Bilogo National High School, was the

webinar's guest speaker. Dr. Florendo thoroughly discussed the PPST and its relevance for pre-service teacher education, providing and sharing his actual field experiences based on his years of experience. He also emphasized some other points that are highly relevant to the topic and should be learned by pre-service teacher education students. Aside from that, Dr. Florendo held a quick quiz bee in which participants from both campuses actively participated and demonstrated that they had learned a lot from today's session. Participants gained a better understanding of what teachers need to know, value, and be able to do in

their practice as future teachers as a result of this, because that is what PPST is referring to.

This initiative was conducted to help the community, particularly the students, alumni, and other stakeholders of the university to promote gender equality at work and even at home. This webinar helped and assisted participants to gain knowledge on laws pertaining to gender equality. The participants were educated on gender-based rights issues and concepts of gender diversity. The program properly started

with the invocation, national anthem, and welcome remarks from the Campus Director, Dr. Rosalinda M. Comia. This was followed by the messages from the Vice-Chancellor for Research Development and Extension Services, Dr. Vaberlie Mandane-Garcia, and also by the Chancellor of Pablo Borbon, Dr. Expedito V. Acorda

The GAD Coordinator, Ms. Jacquelyn D. Salazar stated the objectives setting of the webinar and followed by the introduction of the Resource Person which is Atty. Alexander J. Corachea. His topic was focused on the following areas gender parity, gender diversity, and safe space act. He started by defining and discussing what Diversity and gender diversity are. The Philippines is considered one of the top implementers of gender equality. In other Arab countries, female have been

denied education, and denied the right to vote. The focus of his discussion was the status of gender equality/ issues within the Philippines. Five benefits of implementing a gender Diversity policy has been part of the discussions which include increased positivity in the workplace, decrease turnover, widen the talent pool, improved reputation, and direct representation. According to him as the labor turnover increases, it also indicates as another increase in the expenses of the organization, to avoid it, the organization should maintain an environment where there is the fair treatment and safe environment, and gender parity should exist to maintain and retain employees the role of policy that protect the human

rights of employees should be available. Employees should allow the employee to widen their talent by allowing them to express and share their skills and abilities, as well as this also creates a good reputation to them as well as with the organization. He also shared the IBP journal, based the on 2020 global gender Gap report the Philippines appears to be doing well in terms of gender parity, ranking 16th among 1533

countries surveyed. The representations of women are ok. But still, there are problems problem wherein in terms of participation majority is dominated by male workers

Batangas State university continue to extend its help to its clients through extension services. This topic about Action Research is the last session of the extension webinar series that was conducted by the College of Teacher Education. In addition, Ms. Vanessa Ebreo-Ilao comprehensively explained the importance of this matter.

The program proper started with a pre-test, followed by the invocation, national anthem, and welcome remarks from the Campus Director and Head of Academic Affairs, Dr. Rosalinda M. Comia. Ms. Meleah Casas gave the recapitulation of the previous topic. The guest speaker was then formally introduced by Mr. Mr. Persius Garcia which signal the start of gaining insights from our sophisticated speaker namely Ms. Vanessa Ebreo-Ilao, DepEd faculty member.

This timely and vital webinar entitled Bridging the Gap: Practice Teaching in the New Normal Training for the Pre-service Teacher Education Students, was conducted last May 14, 2022. Through a clear and comprehensive discussion by the guest speaker mentioned above, Ms. Ilao discussed what an action research is and its components. She also shared to the participants the DepEd research agenda and the research management guidelines. The discussion was an eye-opener to the practice teachers in the world of action research.

 

On-site Free Legal Counseling-Filling the Void BatStateU Rosario, Namunga, Rosario, Batangas on May 14, 2022 Gender and Development One of the goals and objectives of Batangas State University is to develop into a leading gender- responsive higher education institution through integrating and advocating gender perspectives in the four-fold functions of higher education, i.e., instruction, research, extension and production, and other University operations through gender-responsive policies, programs, and mechanisms which every

member of the academic community and stakeholders are gender-responsive.

The university as an advocate of gender equality through the GAD and Extension office of Rosario in collaboration with the colleges of CABEIHM, CTE and CIT conducted an on-site free legal counseling that help filled the void that the circumstances created. It specially promoted awareness of victims right to seek legal assistance and therefore reduce the number of unresolved cases of gender-based violence.

The Head of the Research and Extension Office, Dr. Myra A. Bersoto, led the introduction of the cooperating agency and members which are the fifteen representative lawyers from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Batangas Chapter. Namely, Atty. Ferdinand Allan Alda, Atty. Benjohn Maralit, Atty. Edwin Aguirre, Atty. Kristian Ian Dale Datinguinoo, Atty. Glenn P. Mendoza, Atty. Louie Mark Dalawampu , Fiscal Trixy L. Comia, Atty. Strawberry H. Raz, Atty. Argelique M. Divino , Atty. Rachel Acusa. And Atty. Ona. At Around 9:00 am the free legal counseling proper started, clients from different

areas in Rosario such as Ibaan, Bayawang, Namunga came to seek legal advice/ counseling related to their own cases on gender and development issues, and concerns and it ended at exactly 5:00 in the afternoon.

Lastly, a certificate of appreciation was awarded to the representative lawyers from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Batangas Chapter who share their free services to help the community. The closing remarks were delivered by the Asst. Director, of Extension Services Office. The organizers were hopeful that the session had taught them a lot, particularly about knowing and protecting their human rights.

Based on the needs assessment, one of their needs focuses on bookkeeping. It was observed that the cooperative organization

has difficulty in preparing and understanding their records. Indeed, they are paying an intensive amount of money to keep and maintain their books of records.

The bookkeeping was held on September 23, 2022, at BatStateU Rosario Start-Up and Simulation Hub, wherein selected directors and core operational staff participated in the said training. The activity was held face-to-face to really get hands-on with the actual process of recording prescribed by the cooperative development authority and other governing agencies like the bureau of internal revenue and the business permit licensing office. It started early, around seven in the morning. The resource speaker was Dr. Aquino M. De la Pena, who discussed the importance of recording and assessing the record-keeping practices of the cooperative, wherein there were several findings and recommendations. The speaker also pointed out the accounting process and the principles of accounting, particularly the multi-entry level. However, there were two mentors who facilitated the workshop: Dr. Dyzel D. Asi and Dr. Anna Liza H. Manalo. Through mentoring with a 1:2 ratio, the team was able to teach and help participants learn how to record their transactions in different books and journals.
