Submission of Structured Abstract Authors should submit the 1-page structured abstract using the prescribed format via email at irciest2023@g.batstate-u.edu.ph. All files to be uploaded must be in .doc or .docx format with filename: Paper_Title Keyword _Author’s Last Name.doc. Example: Paper_Vibration Severity_Ronquillo.docx The deadline for submission of structured abstracts is on October 20, 2023. For more details, please see the Submission tab. Blind Peer Review of Structured Abstract The blind peer review process will last for about two weeks to give ample time to the members of the Committee on Paper Review to thoroughly evaluate the papers and provide insightful suggestions and recommendations. After the review of the Committee on Paper Review, authors whose structured abstracts have been accepted for oral or poster presentation may anticipate receiving a Notice of Acceptance from the date of their submission until October 23, 2023. Submission of Full Paper Shortlisted papers that will be participating in the Best Paper Competition will be notified to submit their full paper using the prescribed format on or before October 27, 2023. Batstateu RosarioTechnology Building 1 Rosario Administration Students Faculty Research Extension Linkages Facilities Students Home Economics Organization of Multi-Skilled Educators (HOME) The Home Economics Organization of Multi-Skilled Educators (HOME) was established to serve as an academic organization for students under the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLE) major in Home Economics at the College of Teacher Education (CTE) Department. The organization was spearheaded by Adviser, Asst. Prof. Marianne M. Custodio and President Jabbar M. Matuan, alongside a dedicated team of 26 officers and committee members. Their collective vision was to create an inclusive and dynamic platform that fosters excellence, leadership, and community engagement among its members. HOME is committed to equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to become competent educators and responsible leaders. With a strong emphasis on multi-skilled development, innovation, and lifelong learning, the organization provides opportunities for students to enhance their expertise in various fields of Home Economics. Engaging in workshops, training, and community extension programs, members are empowered to apply their skills in real-world scenarios, fostering social responsibility and environmental awareness. Beyond academic growth, HOME actively contributes to school and community-based initiatives, reinforcing the values of service, collaboration, and innovation. To provide workshops in different sectors of Home Economics ORGANIZATIONAL ACTIVITIES: COMMITMENT TO SERVICE, SKILL DEVELOPMENT, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROJECT GREEN: GROWING RESILIENCE THROUGH EDUCATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL NURTURING (1-year Extension Program) Project GREEN is a one-year extension program aimed to equip participants, particularly PTA officers from Rosario West Central School, with essential vegetable gardening techniques and sustainable practices. This initiative, spearheaded by Asst. Prof. Marianne M. Custodio and the Home Economics Organization of Multi-Skilled Educators, kicked off with a three-day seminar, training and workshop. Throughout the seminar, resource speakers delivered engaging discussions on vegetable gardening, organic fertilizer production, pest management, vertical and container gardening, hydroponics, and post- harvest handling. Interactive activities, including hands-on workshops and knowledge assessments, provided participants mainly PTA officers and parents with practical skills to enhance their own gardening efforts. The program emphasized collaboration between students, educators, and the community, ensuring that learning extended beyond the classroom. Participants expressed enthusiasm and commitment to applying their newfound knowledge to strengthen the Gulayan sa Paaralan initiative and promote sustainable living practices within their communities. With this successful launch, Project Green is set to continue fostering environmental responsibility and skill development, further empowering individuals to create a greener and more resilient future. BUMIDA AT HOME-RIT, TARA SALI NA: HEART COMPETITIONS (November 7-8, 2024) The Bumida at HOME-rit, Tara Sali Na: HEart Competitions, held on November 7-8, 2024, was a highlight of College Days at Batangas State University – The NEU, Jose B. Zuño – Rosario Campus, showcasing the talents, creativity, and knowledge of BTLED-HE students. Led by President Jabbar M. Matuan, officers and committee members meticulously planned two major competition categories: the Academic Competition (Techno Bee) and the Skills Competition, which featured Sustainable Home Decor, Commercial Spoofing, and Tote Bag Making. The event opened with Tote Bag Making, where participants demonstrated their sewing and design skills using eco-friendly materials. In the afternoon, the Techno Bee competition tested students’ expertise in Home Economics, Industrial Arts, Agriculture and Fishery Arts, ICT, and Food Preparation. The next day featured the Sustainable Home Decor Contest, where students displayed their home decorations using recyclable materials, and the Commercial Spoofing competition, which showcased students’ humor and creativity in recreating popular advertisements. The awarding ceremony on November 8 recognized the top three winners in each category, celebrating their excellence in craftsmanship, innovation, and academic knowledge. Special awards were given for social media engagement in the Commercial Spoofing competition. The event emphasized sustainability, with waste segregation stations and the use of recyclable materials throughout the activities. With enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, the competition successfully promoted sustainability, creativity, and academic excellence, leaving a lasting impact on the BTLED-HE community. In line with the event’s commitment to sustainability, waste management practices were well- implemented throughout the two-day celebration. Each competition and activity followed eco-friendly protocols to minimize environmental impact. Waste segregation stations were strategically placed to encourage proper disposal and recycling of materials. Participants in the Sustainable Home Decor Contest utilized recyclable and biodegradable materials for their creations, reinforcing the event’s advocacy

Public Administration Student Association (PASA) The Public Administration Student Association (PASA) was established at Batangas State University-Lipa Campus in 2022 with the goal of enhancing the academic experience for students pursuing a Bachelor of Public Administration. Recognizing the significant challenges posed by the pandemic, PASA prioritized providing meaningful experiences that would foster a strong sense of community among its members. The primary objective of PASA was to equip aspiring public servants with the essential skills indispensable for success in their chosen field. This encompassed cultivating strong public speaking abilities, honing problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and developing sound decision-making capabilities. The past years have presented PASA with numerous obstacles, testing the organization’s resilience. Despite facing significant resource constraints and time limitations, PASA demonstrated remarkable perseverance. Through collective effort and unwavering dedication from its members, the organization not only survived these challenges but thrived. This success story serves as a powerful testament to the transformative impact of strong leadership and unwavering commitment within a student organization. Young People Management Association of the Philippines (YMAP) The Young People Management Association of the Philippines (YPMAP) is a student organization for bona fide Human Resource Management students at Batangas State University The NEU – Lipa Campus. It was established to provide members with the support and training necessary to become future managers. The organization aims to develop and enhance each member’s role and abilities, fostering a greater sense of value and connection within the group. Through training and recognition, YPMAP aspires to elevate its members to the level of outstanding human resource professionals. BatStateU-The NEU and BCRMF partner for youth-led environmental solutions

Batangas State University, The National Engineering University (BatStateU-The NEU), and Batangas Coastal Resources Management Foundation (BCRMF) partnered for a unique project called the Batangas Social Innovation Challenge (BASIC). This initiative intends Batangueño youths to proactively take responsibility for their environment by promoting social innovations that address environmental challenges in Batangas Province. Through this project, BASIC shall invite youth leaders, students, young professionals, and out-of-school youth between 18 to 30 with determination, creativity, innovativeness, dedication, and passion for saving the environment and improving the environmental condition of their locality or community. Designed to create a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency, and multicultural approach to addressing environmental issues in the province, BASIC will also involve its participants in intensive design thinking workshops, proposal writing write shops, group mentoring, and a proposal pitching competition as part of the project. BASIC will choose the five best social innovations addressing environmental problems in Batangas Province and will receive ₱100,000 to implement them. This Batangas Social Innovation Challenge was officially launched on March 20, with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoU) by BatStateU-The NEU and BCRMF. The event was graced by BatStateU-The NEU officials led by University President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo and BCRMF’s member organizations led by its President Mr. Rey Nelson B. Amparo. Overall, this collaborative project of BatStateU-The NEU and BCRMF is an encouraging step in fostering social innovation in the Philippines and an inspiring move towards a more sustainable future.

Chinese delegates visit at BatStateU-The NEU marks a significant step in bolstering Philippines-China partnership

Delegates from China arrived at Batangas State University, The National Engineering University (BatStateU-The NEU) to explore new opportunities for cooperation in the field of technical vocational education, marking a significant step forward in the Philippines-China relationship. The Philippine-Sino Education and Technology Center organized the visit, which took place on February 9, 2023, with the goal of establishing the “Belt and Road” E-Commerce Valley Philippine International Cooperation Center. “As the National Engineering University that also excels in technology education and as the owner-developer of the country’s first Knowledge, Innovation, and Science Technology (KIST) Park, it will be mutually beneficial if we work in partnership for the promotion of the “Belt and Road” E-Commerce Valley Philippine International Cooperation Center and other exchanges between our countries for technical vocational education. The development and acceleration of digital skills and young entrepreneurs for an inclusive digital economy, through the Cooperation, we believe is critically important,” Vice President for Administration and Finance, Atty. Luzviminda C. Rosales shared. During the official visit, the Chinese delegates had the opportunity to meet with university officials and discuss the possible areas of collaboration while also getting a tour of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Environment Research (STEER) Hub and the first of its kind BatStateU KIST Park. Aimed at fostering cooperation that will be beneficial to both countries, the possible areas of cooperation focus on digital e-commerce research, faculty exchange, international business forums, seminars and workshops among students and faculty, and other academic collaboration on technical vocational education. This heralded a new age of Philippine-Chinese exchange and collaboration.
